Pocket Denim Midi Skirt Harajuku Ramen

Harajuku Stretch Denim Midi Skirt with Pockets

A little Japanese folklore, a little streetwear attitude, a pocket skirt, and a serious appreciation for ramen. This Samurai Frog Ramen Denim Midi Skirt brings a wonderfully eccentric illustration to soft, stretchy denim, creating a statement piece that's as comfortable to wear as it is difficult to ignore.

A rather serious-looking frog takes centre stage in full samurai armour, with Mount Fuji rising behind him and a generous bowl of ramen at his feet. Rich orange, emerald green, turquoise and deep blue give the artwork its vintage Japanese poster character, while the fitted midi silhouette keeps the look contemporary.

Wear it with a simple T-shirt and trainers for an easy daytime outfit, or dress it up with a fitted top and boots. Either way, this is a skirt that does the talking.

Styling

Women: Pair with a tucked-in black or cream T-shirt, chunky trainers and a denim jacket for an effortless streetwear look. For something sharper, try a fitted black top, ankle boots and bold gold jewellery. The front slit adds movement while showing off your footwear.

About the Artwork

Ramen Temple: The Samurai Frog

Some warriors seek glory. Others seek enlightenment. This one has his priorities firmly fixed on a bowl of noodles.

Inspired by the bold composition of vintage Japanese advertising and traditional woodblock prints, Ramen Temple brings together a rather unimpressed samurai frog, the unmistakable silhouette of Mount Fuji and a magnificent bowl of ramen.

The carefully arranged banners, geometric patterns and vivid colour combinations recall old Japanese travel posters, given a playful contemporary twist. There's a delightful contrast between the frog's solemn expression and the wonderfully ordinary pleasure of a good meal.

And tucked away at the bottom is his simple philosophy:

Speak less and eat more ramen.

It's quirky, colourful artwork with plenty of personality, created for people who enjoy wearing something a little unexpected.

Thoughtfully Made in London

We believe great clothing should be produced with care, both for the people wearing it and for the environment.

Our fabrics are printed using completely water-based inks, avoiding solvent-based printing processes. The colours are then fixed using heat rather than conventional steaming, eliminating the associated steaming stage and its excess or potentially contaminated wastewater.

All printing, production and fulfilment take place at our London studio. Bringing these processes together gives us greater oversight of production and the quality of every finished garment.

Care

  • Wash inside out on a gentle cycle.
  • Use a mild detergent and avoid bleach.
  • Air dry where possible.
  • Iron on the reverse at a suitable temperature.
  • Always follow the garment's care label.
