The Story


This Art Nouveau baseball jersey features a decorative pattern drawn from the work of Maurice Pillard Verneuil, one of the most influential designers of the Art Nouveau movement. Active during the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, Verneuil specialised in ornamental pattern design. His work focused on repeating compositions inspired by nature — birds, flowers, leaves, and flowing organic shapes arranged into rhythmic decorative structures. These patterns were originally created for textiles, wallpaper, ceramics, and architectural decoration during the Belle Époque.

The artwork used on this blue floral baseball jersey comes from one of Verneuil’s decorative bird patterns, where white doves glide through stylised botanical forms in layered shades of blue. The result is a classic Art Nouveau floral pattern that feels both elegant and dynamic.

By printing the pattern across the front and back of the jersey, the design wraps around the garment in the same way Verneuil intended his patterns to move across surfaces.
